Rude Boys Hit Six String Studios: A Wild Day of Music, Mayhem, and Ska-tastic Vibes!
The Rude Boys have rolled up to Six String Studios, where the only thing hotter than the sound of their horns is the welcome they get from the crew. It’s gonna be a big year for these ska legends—new tunes, packed gigs, and an itinerary that’s busier than a squirrel on Red Bull.
The rhythm section (aka Govi, Tony, and Steve) have cracked their knuckles and hit the ground running. Not wasting any time, they dive straight into the new tracks, setting the pace while Angus Rich (our keyboard wizard) steps in as the musical director for the day. Picture it: one guy with a piano, seven legends with horns, and a whole lot of 'is this how ska’s supposed to sound?' vibes in the air. Magic!
Meanwhile, the atmosphere is positively buzzing as the Rudies start laying down some serious tracks. Sive (Alto Saxophone – this fierce girl is the youngest Rude Boy!) has been busy creating charts, which means no one is getting lost in the horn section—unless you count Bailey (our tik tok/social media guru - poor guy!). Our mate Dicko (of Australian Idol / I’m a celebrity TV fame) is hanging out with us at the studio too, enjoying his role on the SCRBoys mentor/management team. He’s snapping pics and getting his “serious music producer” look on while the rest of the crew soak in the vibe & prepare the ever present espresso martinis!
By the afternoon, Mick’s already belted out some guide vocals, and the rest of the day’s booked for him to finish up the vocals and lay down some over-dubs. Don’t worry though—he’s promised not to break anything (unless it’s a microphone stand in the heat of the moment).
The excitement in the air is palpable as the sounds of the Sunny Coast Rude Boys start to take shape. New original tunes are coming your way soon—just in time for our big Ska Party at Miami Marketta on February 21st, and another round of madness at The Triffid on February 22nd with our friends FAT PICINIC (check ‘em out they’re Amaze-balls!)
And that’s just the beginning! March and April are shaping up to be jam-packed with gigs all over the Sunny Coast, Brisbane & then interstate in May!
Then a HUGE announcement for our June/July tour!
